I caved!
Yep, I did. I, who have said nae and even bleck to the idea, applied for a teaching certificate. Why? Well, I'll tell you. I am tired of getting rejected by publishing companies who don't know a good thing when it mocks them. I am tired of counting pills and capsules for a living, a job a trained monkey could do. And, I am tired of people automatically assuming I'm a teacher when I tell them I majored in English in college.
Oh, and the real reason: Virtual Schooling. Florida has a program designed for students who are home schooled or attend really small schools. It offers online courses to that they can learn the trig their mommy isn't really capable of teaching or take AP classes that their school/mom doesn't offer. Virtual schools have "teachers" who help the students via email and phone calls. So they "teach" students from all over the state, without actually having to be in a class room or do much lesson planning.
Plus, maybe if I actually have a teaching certificate I could go back to Germany someday...or maybe even Prague! Ooh, I like that idea...me, living in Praha...who want's to come visit?
