New Friends

I've just started going to this great "college and career" (aka singles) group at one of the local pres. churches here in Lakeland. It's nice to finally be around a group of peers again, it's been too long. I enjoy the things I'm involved in at my own church and I love the people there, but they are all so much older (or younger) or more married than I am. It's nice to have a niche again. So, to all of you out there, I say find your niche. Don't give up on your opportunities to serve, but make fellowship with people of the same walk and time of life a priority. Kapish!

Meg! That's great! I'm really excited for you. I hope you find the fellowship that you have been longing for!

Meg,

I'm glad you found your niche. I was actually gonna leave a comment about the correct spelling of kapish...it became a debate at work not too long ago...capisce is also ok, I think! Ha! I'm so glad someone else likes to end things w/ that word! Must've been a roommate thing.

On to other comments, how large is the group? It sounds successful, which is awesome. The group I tried to help launch was not successful and I got kinda discouraged.

the group is about 50 people and it's great. I honestly only know about 10 of them, but I don't really have a desire to know too many more. I know that sounds incredibly selfish, but well, I'm selfish. The group is a mix of college students and "just out of college" singles. The 10 or so that I do know are the non-college students, which suits me just fine.
